Foodcity/Ash Cuts and Styles Rewa coach, Marika Rodu, has welcomed the decision made by Fiji Football Association regarding their Vodafone Fiji FACT semifinals.

The Rewa-Nadi match was abandoned at half time due to the unplayable conditions at Subrail Park, Labasa last Saturday brought about by the heavy downpour over the weekend.

Esy Kool Nadi led 1-0 at halftime.

And despite returning to Labasa to play 45 minutes of football, Rodu is confident on his side’s chances.

The Delta Tigers often started slowly and shifted into overdrive in the second half.

In their first match against Labasa, they scored four goals in the last 20 minutes of game time.

And they will be out to do their best.

“We’ve taken the decision on board that has been made by the Fiji Football Association,” Rodu said.

“As a coach, I do not want to waste  my time arguing. Whether it is 45 or 90 minutes it is still football.

“We will have to manage the 45 minutes well.

“The boys have a fighting spirit, we can still fightback and win.

“If we did it against Labasa, then we can surely do it with any team,” he added.

Fiji FA chief executive officer, Mohammed Yusuf said: “Fiji FA would like to clarify that the initial board decision was correct after consultation with the Oceania Football Confederation.

“As a result, the Rewa-Nadi match will resume from the second half with all cards, scores etc. intact,” he said.

The match is scheduled for 11.45am on Saturday at Subrail Park in Labasa.

The second semifinal between Vinz Works Suva FC and Galaxy Hotel and Apartment / Powerwise Electrical (NZ) Labasa FC will kick-off at 1pm.

On Sunday, the third/fourth place playoff will kick-off at 10.30am while the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2020 final will kick-off at 1pm.

Ticket holders from Saturday last week (day 5) is still valid.

All fans who are claiming for refund will get their full refund.
