HYDERABAD: Forest department officials arrested four more accused for chopping of a sambar’s hind legs near Renya thanda in Kothaguda mandal of Mahabubabad.
While the officials had arrested two persons on December 2, the day the incident took place, the other four were arrested within the next 24 hours. “These six culprits are residents of the same village where the incident took place. They attacked the sambar deer in an attempt to poach the wild animal and sell its meat,” forest range officer Lakshmi Narayana said.
Six poachers allegedly attacked the deer with an axe when it entered the village to drink water from a nearby lake on Tuesday.
