A record-breaking 50 people won the Massachusetts lottery game Mass Cash on Sunday, according to the state agency that runs the games.

To win the game, players must pick 5 numbers between 1 and 35. After 50 people chose the same winning numbers, the lottery agency had to reconfigure how the Mass Cash jackpot is paid out. Each winner who picked 9, 15, 3, 27 and 21 will now get $48,000, officials said.

Massachusetts State Lottery official Christian Teja told WCVB-TV that the previous record was 34 simultaneous winners. Teja added that the winners were from across the state.

“Interestingly, on the bet slip that you must fill out in order to purchase a ticket, if you look at it, the numbers that all came up are in a vertical line, one on top of the other and sequentially they’re all six digits apart,” Teja said.

The payout was also a record for Mass Cash, which started in 1991, according to Boston.com.
