UP: Three killed as car rams into stationary truck in Hardoi district

Three people were killed while four others injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district late on Monday.

LUCKNOW: Three people were killed while four others injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district late on Monday.
Police said that a car -- bearing registration number of Shahjahanpur -- rammed into a stationary truck parked on Hardoi-Shahjahanpur Road under the Shahabad police station area.

The deceased were identified as Devendra (25), Sunil Kumar (33) and Akhilesh (50) -- all residents of Katra Bazar, Shahjahanpur.

Hardoi superintendent of police Anurag Vatsa said that prima facie, seven persons were in the car, adding, they were returning from a marriage when the driver probably dozed off and rammed into the truck.
Soon after the incident, the locals informed the police.
The police took the injured to Shahabad community health centre for treatment where three people were declared brought dead.
Those recovering include Dinesh (56), Shivam (17), Akash (18) and Chhote Lal (45).
