NGO organises annual mass marriage for poor tribals in WB’s Jhargram

Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) organised an annual mass marriage program for poor tribals and Dalit families in WB’s Jhargram district. Mass marriage was organised by Tribeni Yuba Janakalyan Organization with an aim of stopping women trafficking. This is the 12th year of the program, where around 12 couples from poor families got married. Since 2008, 1,237 couples have tied the knot. This marriage program was started to stop child marriage, to control women trafficking and torture. This organisation also provides cycle, bed, household items, utensils, ornaments, and money to every couple.
