DSP questioned for ‘harassing’ woman constable in Odisha's Kalahandi district

Police on Friday detained a deputy superintendent of police (DSP)-rank officer at Kesinga police station in Kalahandi district on charges of sexual harassment of a woman constable.

BHUBANESWAR/BALAGIR: Police on Friday detained a deputy superintendent of police (DSP)-rank officer at Kesinga police station in Kalahandi district on charges of sexual harassment of a woman constable.
The DSP, identified as Akshya Kumar Nayak, currently posted in Malkangiri district, faced interrogation at the police station. However, he was allowed to go as he has obtained an interim protection against arrest till December 23 from the Orissa high court.

The woman constable, serving in the Kesinga police station where she lodged the complaint against the DSP on August 21, has alleged that she was lured into marriage by him.
