NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: A set of guidelines to be followed in the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive was issued by ACS Amit Mohan Prasad.
Two Mondays and a Friday have been fixed for the drive and over 43,000 healthcare workers are to be vaccinated in the first phase. The process to train the staff members is likely to be completed by December 27, and teams from Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad are preparing booth level plans to initiate the process for 7,000 health workers in one day.
In GB Nagar, 22 government and 50 private level booths will be set up with most number of booths in Bisrakh block.
After vaccination, a person can can get a card by logging in at www.cowin.gov.in following an sms link.
“We have 72 booths across GB Nagar,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi district immunisation officer in-charge of Covid-19 vaccine process.
The district task force along with the district control room will guide and monitor activities.
In Ghaziabad, the health department has intensified its preparation for the vaccination programme where training of health staff has been going on at MMG District Hospital and would be completed in a couple of days.
“Instructions have been given to complete the preparation as per the guidelines. Preparations for the maintenance of vaccines have been completed in the district, while the training work is on under the direction of chief medical officer, NK Gupta,” said Ajay Shankar Pandey district magistrate Ghaziabad.

He added that 4,187 health workers have been identified in government health facilities and 16,269 employees in the private health sector have been selected for vaccination.
One district-level cold chain has been set up at the district hospital and there are 29 vaccine stores at the block level.
The vaccine will be transported from Lucknow to Meerut and from there, to the district hospital. It will be then be transferred to block-level vaccine stores, where vaccines will be taken to vaccination sites in vaccine carriers.
