NAGPUR: Unidentified person set three parked vehicles on fire at Uthkhana near Medical chowk in the wee hours of Sunday here.
The residents of Uthkhana were left stunned after these four-wheelers were damaged by a mysterious person. The owners of the cars were identified as Amol Patil, Nyaybindu Takshande and Sankalp Wankhede, all parked in front of the owners' residences.
The incident happened between 1.30am and 1.45am. The vehicles with covers were targeted.
Patil said they were alerted by the neighbors following loud noises of tire bursting due to flames and charring of the interiors. "The CCTV footages which have recovered so far showing movement of a suspect without any covering on the face," he said. Patil's vehicle was purchased only three months ago. "My neighbour Takshande's vehicle was severely damaged as well," he said.
Patil said there had been constant bickering over parking with the employees and visitors of a nearby mall. "We cannot rule out the involvement of someone who was miffed by our confronting them to park in front of our houses," he said.
