Thane: GP poll candidate’s vehicle set on fire

A day after Shiv Sena candidates Deepak Mhatre and his wife Mangala Mhatre contesting the gram panchayat (GP) polls were shot at near their house and were saved as they managed to duck in time, unidentified persons have been booked for allegedly setting ablaze another GP poll candidate’s car in Bhiwandi taluka on Monday.
Kavita Bhoir, the candidate, has lodged a case and claimed that rival candidates were responsible for the incident.The GP elections are scheduled in Bhiwandi taluka on January 15.
