    Bird flu cases in two Kerala districts ring alarm bells

    A high alert has been sounded in Kerala after four bird flu cases were reported in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts, keeping the officials on their toes. The presence of the dreaded virus was confirmed in some ducks following which the State Minister for Forest, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development K. Raju had ordered culling of 50,000 ducks in both Kottayam and Alappuzha districts, to contain the spread of the infection.
