Odisha: Missing Sundargarh man traced to Talcher

Birju Kulu of Kutra block in Sundargarh district, who had gone missing from home three days back, was traced to Talcher on Tuesday. A police team from Kutra has left for Talcher to bring him back. Kulu (51), a resident of Katang village under Kutra block, had gone missing from home 25 years back and fetched up in a Pakistan jail on suspicion of being an Indian spy.

ROURKELA: Birju Kulu of Kutra block in Sundargarh district, who had gone missing from home three days back, was traced to Talcher on Tuesday. A police team from Kutra has left for Talcher to bring him back. Kulu (51), a resident of Katang village under Kutra block, had gone missing from home 25 years back and fetched up in a Pakistan jail on suspicion of being an Indian spy.

Having spent 20 years in a Pakistan jail, he returned home last year. Kulu’s sister had lodged a complaint with Kutra police that he had gone missing on the night of January 2. Sundargarh police started searching for him and had sent his photo to different police stations. “Kulu was traced and identified by the police to Talcher. A police team from Kutra has left for Talcher to bring him back,” Sundargarh SP Sagarika Nath said, adding, “After he returns it will be known how he reached Talcher.”
