Girl alleges sexual assault by father

Pune: A 34-year-old woman on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Pimpri police accusing her husband (39) of sexually assaulting their minor daughter for the past seven years.
According to the complaint, the incident came to light last month when the couple and their 13-year-old daughter had gone to their hometown in Ahmednagar district.
“The minor narrated the ordeal to her mother while they were in their hometown, following which the woman approached us.We have booked the father under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” senior inspector of the Pimpri police Milind Waghmare said.
An officer from the Pimpri police said the man was sexually assaulting the girl since she was six-year-old. “The girl remained silent for years as her father used to threaten her,” the officer said, adding, “We are yet to arrest the man.”
