Karnataka: Cultural week gets underway at Udupi Sri Krishna Temple from January 9

UDUPI: A medley cultural treat awaits connoisseurs of fine arts – music and dance included in the 7-day cultural festival that Paryaya Sri Adamaru mutt has organised as part of Saptotsava getting underway at Udupi Sri Krishna Temple from January 9. Artists of repute will perform at Sri Narahari Thirtha vedike at the Rajangana of Krishna Temple temple every day from 7pm up to January 15, Govindraj, Deewana of Adamaru Mutt said.
Rahul Mellal and troupe from Bengaluru will present Carnatic classical music on January 9.
On January 10, Sangeetha Katti and troupe, Bengaluru will present Hindustani classical music and Dasavani. Vyjayanthi Kashi, Prateeksha Kashi and troupe will present Kuchipudi dance on January 11. On January 12, the Kanchana sisters – Sriranjini and Shrutiranjini from Bengaluru will take centre stage with Carnatic classical music performance.
Artists of Punyah Dance Company, Bengaluru – Parshwanath Upadhya, Shruti Gopal and Aditya P V will present Bharatanatyam on January 15. Panchaveena recital by Vidwan H S Venugopal and troupe will be the highlight of the penultimate day of the cultural fete. Jayateertha Mevundi, vocalist from Kirana gharana and troupe will bring the curtains down on the event with their Hindustani classical and dasavani event on January 15.
