West Brom have been offered the chance to sign Angers star Stephane Bahoken, according to reports.

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol says Albion have been given the option of taking both the Cameroonian striker and Rennes midfielder Clement Grenier.

Albion have been desperately short of attacking edge this season and Bahoken has scored five times in 16 matches for the Ligue 1 outift, from 11 starts, helping the club to seventh in the French top flight.

He has been at Angers for the last couple of seasons, scoring 11 in his first campaign, after moving from Strasbourg and adding seven in last term’s truncated programme.

He has won ten caps for Cameroon and is out of contract in June 2022.

He was linked with Aston Villa when they were in the Championship a couple of years ago and also with Nottingham Forest in the summer.

French football is reeling from the collapse of their deal with Mediapro, who terminated their £2.75billion contract to broadcast the top two divisions just five months into a four-year contract.

It is also claimed that Rennes are willing to let Grenier go for free.

The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season but has fought his way back into the French side’s starting eleven in recent weeks, starting six of the last seven Ligue 1 games.

He has also scored twice in his last three games.

Sam Allardyce has already brought Andy Lonergan and Robert Snodgrass to the club but isn’t done yet.
