Nagpur alone accounts for 58% of under-treatment patients in Vidarbha

Covid-19 conditions in many districts of Vidarbha are fairly under control as compared to Nagpur district. At present, there are 7866 patients under treatment in Vidarbha. Out of them, 4,562 are in Nagpur district alone. This means, Nagpur accounts for 58% of the under treatment patients in Vidarbha region. The district already accounts for nearly 50% of the total Covid cases in Vidarbha and 60% of Covid deaths in Vidarbha. All these statistics indicate that the infection is now centred around Nagpur district in general and city in particular.

NAGPUR: Covid-19 conditions in many districts of Vidarbha are fairly under control as compared to Nagpur district. At present, there are 7,866 patients under treatment in Vidarbha. Out of them, 4,562 are in Nagpur district alone. This means, Nagpur accounts for 58% of the under treatment patients in Vidarbha region. The district already accounts for nearly 50% of the total Covid cases in Vidarbha and 60% of Covid deaths in Vidarbha.
All these statistics indicate that the infection is now centred around Nagpur district in general and city in particular.
On Monday, 728 new cases were reported in Vidarbha with 418 of them in Nagpur alone. Except Buldhana and Amravati, all the other districts reported less than 50 cases on Monday. Wardha reported only 5 cases, lowest for the district since months. Other districts in Vidarbha reported cases as follows — Buldhana (56), Amravati (52), Yavatmal (42), Gondia (37), Chandrapur (35), Bhandara (29), Akola (21), Gadchiroli (20) and Washim (13). With this, the total Covid-19 caseload reached 2,60,946.
On the other hand, 718 patients recovered in a day from Nagpur (405), Yavatmal (56), Buldhana (50), Akola (44), Gondia (41), Bhandara (40), Chandrapur (35), Washim (17), Amravati (16), Gadchiroli (10) and Wardha (4). With 2,46,349 patients recovering out of total 2,60,946 cases; Vidarbha’s recovery rate is now 94.4%, which is less than the state average of 94.75% and national average above 96%.
Monday’s 14 deaths came from Nagpur (6), Wardha (3), Bhandara (2), Gondia (1), Akola (1) and Amravati (1). Wardha reported 3 deaths for the second consecutive day on Monday. Total death toll of Vidarbha reached 6,730. Case fatality rate is 2.57% which is higher than the state and national average again.
Washim: In the last 24 hours, 13 new cases were reported in the district while 17 recovered from Covid. No death was reported. The district now has 6,785 cases, 6,531 recoveries and 151 deaths. Recovery rate of Washim is 96.25%. Total 102 patients are under treatment in Washim.
Buldhana: Out of the 619 test reports received in the last 24 hours, 56 tested positive in Buldhana taking the total caseload to 13,014. With this, Buldhana became the sixth district in Vidarbha to have reported more than 13,000 Covid19 cases. On the other hand, 50 patients recovered in a day taking the total number of recoveries to 12,536. No death due to Covid-19 was reported on Monday. With 157 deaths reported till date, Buldhana district has 321 patients under treatment.

Akola: The district received 73 RT-PCR reports and 48 Rapid Antigen test reports in last 24 hours. Out of these, 21 tested positive which took the total caseload of Akola to 10,935. A 55-year-old woman patient of Covid-19 died on Monday taking the total toll to 325. In all, 44 patients recovered, taking the number of recoveries past the 10,000 mark to 10,017. Now, Akola’s recovery rate is 91%. Total 593 patients are still under treatment.
Gondia: The district reported 37 cases and 41 recoveries in last two days. Death of an elderly patient on Monday took Gondia’s Covid-19 toll to 180. Now, the district has 13,928 cases, 13,495 recoveries and 253 patients under treatment.
Bhandara: Total 229 reports of Covid-19 tests were received in the last 24 hours in the district. Two deaths were reported apart from 29 new cases and 40 recoveries. Now, the district has 12,802 cases and 12,097 recoveries which means 94.5% recovery rate. Toll due to Covid-19 has reached 307 in Bhandara and death rate is 2.4%. Total 398 patients are under treatment.
Gadchiroli: Twenty cases and 10 recoveries marked Monday in Gadchiroli. No death was reported due to Covid-19. The district now has 9,197 cases. Out of these, 8,967 have recovered. Recovery rate is 97.5%. With total 104 deaths due to Covid-19 reported till date, Gadchiroli has 126 under treatment patients.
