KANPUR: Four girls, of which three are minors, have gone missing under mysterious circumstances from the
Civil Lines area of
Etawah on Monday.
Police said the four, including three sisters and their neighbourhood friend, had left their respective Civil Lines locality homes on Monday morning to attend their classes at a nearby government school.
On the complaint filed by their parents, the police on Monday night registered a complaint under relevant sections of
Indian Penal Code (IPC) and initiated an investigation in this regard.
Four investigating teams have been formed to crack the case.
The police questioned their parents, who have denied having enmity with anybody.
The girls are aged between 13 and 18 years.
According to ASP Etawah
Omveer Singh, the girls had left the house for their school on Monday morning.
“When they did not return till late evening, their parents lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police. A case was lodged under sections 363 and 366 of IPC. We have questioned school authorities who claimed that the girls did not reach school on Monday. Four teams have been constituted and dispatched to possible locations to trace their whereabouts.
