Coronavirus Latest Updates: Covid-19 vaccination suspended till Jan 18 in Maharashtra

After fighting the deadly virus for almost 10 months, India is all set to begin the vaccination drive today (January 16, 2021). While Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the nationwide vaccination drive, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will be launching the state-wise vaccination drive today at Bandra Kurla Complex. BMC informed that as many as 400 health workers will be administering the jab in the city on a daily basis.On Friday, Maharashtra reported 3,145 new cases of the coronavirus, and with that, the state's cumulative count climbed to 19,84,768. As many as 45 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. The death toll of the state has now climbed to 50,336. Maharashtra is now the only state apart from Kerala where coronavirus patients numbers are the highest in the country.On the other hand, the active Covid-19 cases in the country stand at 2,13,603 while 1,01,46,763 people have recovered from the disease, as per the Union health ministry.Stay tuned for latest updates here...

COVID-19 vaccination drive for Indian Naval personnel begins at INHS ASVINI

The first phase of immunisation against COVID-19 at the Western Naval Command was initiated on 16 January 2021 at INHS Asvini. This phase is directed at immunising healthcare workers (HCWs) at INHS Asvini and other HCWs in Mumbai. The vaccination drive was rolled out with Rear Admiral Sheila Mathai, VSM, Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini receiving the first dose of the vaccine. A total of 100 HCWs including Medical Officers, Nursing Officers and other paramedical staff were vaccinated on Day 1.
