Wrapping up

That's all for today's coverage. Thanks for following along.

It feels like this has been the case all series but the match is precariously poised with India at 2-62.

But if Australia can take an early wicket or two first thing tomorrow, they'll be right on top.

A reminder - play will restart 30 minutes early tomorrow, at 9:30am local.

See you all then.

Green still finding his feet

Cameron Green has made his mark with the bat this summer but he is yet to take a Test wicket.

He hasn't bowled poorly by any stretch but the promising all-rounder has shown just how hard it is to find a world class player with bat and ball.

There's only one Nathan Lyon

Nathan Lyon was arguably the star of day two at the Gabba.

He was certainly the fan favourite and scored an entertaining 24 as part of a wagging Australian tail before taking the prized wicket of Rohit Sharma.

As Geoff Lemon points out - he may not be Shane Warne or Murali, but there will only ever be one Nathan Lyon.

Could Marnus be Australia's next captain?

Tim Paine is in the twilight of his career and that has naturally sparked constant talk about who may be the next man to take the second most important job in the country - captain of the Australian Test side.

After another superb summer, Andrew Wu has tossed up Marnus Labuschagne as a potential option.

That's stumps

Play will not resume today.

The umpires weren't satisfied the outer part of the centre square would dry in time and have called an end to the day's play.

Play will resume at 9:30am local tomorrow to try and make up for some lost time.

Here come the umpires...

They're stamping on the outer part of the centre square, where water pooled on edge of the covers.

That seems to be the area of concern.

Tim Paine has joined the officials out in the middle, too.

Another inspection inbound at 4:45pm local, play set to resume at 5pm

The umpires aren't satisfied.

They'll be back out in 20 minutes to examine the pitch once again.

But if all goes well, play will resume at 5pm local.

Stay tuned.

No word as to when play will restart

But we can't be far away.

I'm tipping a 4:45pm local time restart.

The ground appears dry to the eye but it's undoubtedly wet under foot, given the sheer amount of rain that fell.

A bit of beer pong to pass the time

I'm reliably informed the gents wearing the red Hawaiians have been tossed from the ground for taking part in this.

Harmless fun but police decided otherwise and escorted them from the ground. Absurd.
