NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Another Tennessee man has been charged with taking part in the raid at the U.S. Capitol, federal authorities said Saturday.
Jack Jesse Griffith, known online as Juan Bibiano, was arrested in Gallatin by the FBI, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee.
An informant familiar with Griffith identified him as the Facebook user Juan Bibiano and provided the FBI with posts from the Juan Bibiano Facebook account, federal authorities said. One post included a photo of the Tennessee man in what appears to be the Capitol Crypt, raising his fist into the air. Another post included a message in which Griffith said, “I even helped stormed (sic) the capitol today, but it only made things worse,” authorities said.
Griffith’s charges include knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so. He’s also accused of knowingly - with intent to impede or disrupt the conduct of government business - engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct.
Griffith is scheduled to make an initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate judge in Nashville on Tuesday. It could not be immediately determined if Griffith has an attorney.
Meanwhile, the mother of a Tennessee man accused of carrying plastic restraints into the U.S. Capitol during the riot has been arrested.
Lisa Eisenhart, 56, of Woodstock, Georgia, was taken into custody by FBI agents in Nashville on Saturday, media outlets reported, citing the Office of the U.S. Attorney Middle District of Tennessee.
Charges include conspiring with her son, Eric Munchel, to violate federal statutes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Eisenhart is scheduled to appear before a judge in Nashville on Tuesday.
It was not immediately known if Eisenhart has an attorney to speak on her behalf.
Munchel was previously arrested in connection with the riot. He’s charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Prosecutors say that photos from the riot show a person who appears to be Munchel carrying plastic restraints, an item in a holster on his right hip, and a cell phone mounted on his chest with the camera facing outward, ostensibly to record events that day.
The charges stem from the Jan. 6 riot when supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol as Congress gathered to certify the November election won by Democratic President-elect Joe Biden. The siege came after a rally led by Trump in which he repeated false claims of a stolen election and urged his supporters to “fight like hell.” Five people, including a Capitol Police officer, died during the unrest.
