Forest fire spreads on hillock near Chennai
The fire was visible from the Ramakrishna Raju Pet-Tiruttani state highway.
CHENNAI: A fire spread on a hillock in KG Kandigai near Tiruttani, around 80 km west of Chennai, on Sunday. The fire was visible from the Ramakrishna Raju Pet-Tiruttani state highway.
The fire engulfed bushes and several trees.
When this correspondent informed the fire and rescue services department, officials said that they didn’t have special equipment to control forest fire. They also said they didn’t have access to the forest.

They informed the forest department in Tiruvallur about the accident.
The cause of the fire was not known.
