Virat Kohli was elated with India's historic win at the Gabba against Australia, saying it was an 'exemplary performance' from the whole team. Virat Kohli also called out 'to everyone who doubted' the Indian team after Adelaide's heartbreak, asking them to 'stand up and take notice'.

India were without Virat Kohli, who had headed home after the Adelaide Test on paternity leave. The visitors missed the likes of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin due to various injuries

Rishabh Pant unleashed a late batting assault as India galloped to a record 328-run chase at the Gabba, becoming the first team since the West Indies in 1988 to beat Australia at their Brisbane stronghold. Rishabh Pant hit a heroic 89, Cheteshwar Pujara did his job with a solid fifty and Shubman Gill hit a brave 91 on Day 5.
