PUNE: Glitches in the Co-WIN app continued to affect the vaccination process on Day 2 as health officials in three private hospitals in Pune had to defer their vaccination programme on Tuesday. The district till 1 pm generated only 12% turn out as against Satara's 35.9% and Solapur's 22.4% turn out according to state health officials.
With the state keen to carry out the entire process online using Co-WIN app, there was no manual process carried out in the district according to health officials.

Of the 31 vaccination sites in Pune, three private hospitals— Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital, Bharati hospital and Noble hospital— were unable to generate the mandatory session sites for the beneficiaries until late afternoon leading them to defer the programme for Tuesday. Till 1 pm, the vaccination programme had not been started at these three private hospitals.
Deputy director health services (Pune region) Dr Sanjay Deshmukh told TOI that till afternoon the session sites could not be created by the hospitals which lists out the beneficiaries. "We have deferred the programme for today at these sites until tomorrow and incase the same issue pertains we have to consider the option of replacing the sites," he told TOI. He said that they would continue trying to help these hospitals generate the sites.
Explaining the issue, he said the data of beneficiaries selected for these sites in the city covered the entire Haveli taluka which would again affect the turn out at these sites. "The Co-WIN team has been intimated on the same and they are working to iron out the issues," he added.
State director of health services Dr Archana Patil told TOI that from Tuesday the registration will only have to be carried out on the Co-WIN app. "We have directed all the centres to carry out online registrations only and no offline registrations should be done," he said.

Pune Municipal Corporation health officials told TOI that there are login issues with some private hospitals. "The login ID and password are yet to be created for some. Hence, we had to defer the sessions," said the official
Meanwhile, deputy medical director of Bharati hospital, Jitendra Oswal said that the PMC health officials informed them that they could not login to the Co-WIN app using the ID and password assigned to their hospital. "The PMC officials could not generate the list of beneficiaries who were expected to take the shot on Tuesday. Hence, we had to cancel the session at the hospital," he said.
For rural areas in Pune district, officials said they did not face the technical glitches of generating the login ID and the online process was carried out smoothly without any glitches and a 13% turn out was registered of the listed beneficiaries of the 15 sites in Pune rural areas. The city areas in total have 16 sites of the total 31 sites in the district. Out of these 31 sites, 29 are operational said health officials.
On Monday, the state officials had told TOI that Co-WIN snags they had flagged on Saturday had been fixed and the rectified system now appeared stable. Of the 285 sites, 50% sites were generated to enable a smooth roll out for Tuesday as the state had issued directions to all sites to carry out the process online.
