    Bertelsmann India Investments has promoted Rohit Sood to partner from principal, said a statement issued today.
    Sood is a founding member of the organisation and has been with the firm since its official launch in 2012. In his current position, he leads BII’s investments in the technology sector with special focus on consumer, B2B commerce, financial services, mobility, agriculture, travel and enterprise.

    He has led BII’s foray in financial services through investments in Lendingkart and Rupeek. He is a board observer at Pepperfry, Shiprocket, Lendingkart, Treebo Hotels, Licious, LetsTransport, Agro Star and Rupeek.

    Prior to Bertelsmann, Sood worked as senior analyst at Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, India and as research analyst at R A Net (India) - a captive research arm of New York-based hedge fund Constellation Capital Management.

    Bertelsmann India Investments is a venture capital fund of Bertelsmann, a media, services and education company that operates in about 50 countries around the world. BII focuses on series B and C stage investments in pioneering companies in the digital, education, media and services sectors.
