Maharashtra: Constable dies during treatment due to coronavirus in Thane

THANE: A-49-year old police constable posted with Kolsewadi police station in Kalyan died due to coronavirus during treatment at private hospital in Thane.
Constable Sanjay Wani was working as driver at police station. Police said Wani last month on December 21 was tested Covid-19 positive and admitted to Metro hospital in Kalyan from where after getting some relief was later shifted to Covid Care centre situated in Badlapur where he was residing with his family.

However during treatment recently Wani developed breathing problem due to which senior officials shifted him to a private Vedant hospital in Thane for better treatment but on Tuesday he died during treatment. Sahurao Salve, senior police inspector of Kolsewadi police station said that Wani was survived with his wife and two kids including one son and one daughter who is unmarried. The death of Wani during period when Covid-19 cases are brought under some control has disappointed policemen.
