Sagar Rukari, vice-president of the Federation of All Maharashtra Petrol Dealers’ Association, said though the crude oil prices were going down, the government has increased the excise duty.
“In 2013, the crude oil prices were the highest. But the excise duty was low. After 2013, crude oil prices started coming down. But the government increased the excise duty. Its version that fuel price is based on the international market is incorrect,” he said.
