Four little green bee-eaters die in Dahod
Birds were found dead in Bhilwada area on Wednesday
Vadodara: The Dahod district administration has sent samples from birds that were found dead in the town on Wednesday.
While the primary cause of death of the birds does not seem to be avian influenza, the administration is taking no chances. Four bee-eaters were found dead in the Bhilwada area. In-charge deputy director of animal husbandry in the district, Dr K L Gosai, said that prima facie one of the birds had died due to an injury and three may have died due to food poisoning.

“But we are not taking any chances and have sent samples to Ahmedabad to examine the possibility of their suffering from bird flu,” he said.
Sources said the administration was exercising caution as deaths of famed Kadaknath chicken were reported in the neighbouring Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh due to bird flu.
