CHANDIGARH: Punjab recorded an improvement in coverage of Covid vaccination as 56.77% of the registered health workers got themselves inoculated. The drive was carried out at 34 sites in private health facilities across the state. Of 3,528 listed health workers, as many as 2,003 received jabs. So far, 7,570 have been vaccinated.
In Mohali, as many as 555 beneficiaries of 800 got themselves immunised while 213 out of 400 in Ludhiana received jabs, 140 of 200 in Jalandhar, 134 of 200 in Hoshiarpur, 215 of 300 in Amritsar, 138 of 300 in Bathinda, 80 of 100 in Patiala, 50 of 100 in Mansa and Pathankot.

The Punjab government has decided to increase vaccination sites. Dr Rajesh Bhaskar, Covid nodal officer of Punjab, said they aim to increase the number of sites to at least 200 in coming days. Dr Bhaksar said there has been a consistent rise in the rate of vaccination. “We are hopeful of the trend continuing in the coming days,” he said.
