Telangana: Health worker who was administered Covid-19 vaccine, dies

A 42-year-old male healthcare worker from Telangana who was vaccinated on Tuesday developed chest pain in early hours of Wednesday and died. He was vaccinated at about 11:30 am on Tuesday at the Kuntala primary health centre in Nirmal district. Preliminary findings suggest that death seems to be unrelated to vaccination, said health department in the official statement.

HYDERABAD: A 42-year-old male healthcare worker from Telangana who was vaccinated on Tuesday, developed chest pain in early hours of Wednesday and died.
He was vaccinated at about 11.30am on Tuesday at the Kuntala primary health centre in Nirmal district.
"At about 2.30am on January 20, he developed chest pain and was brought dead to district hospital around 5.30 am.
Preliminary findings suggest that the death seems to be unrelated to vaccination," as per an official statement from the state health department.
As per the guidelines postmortem will be conducted by a team of doctors to assess the cause of death. "The district AEFI committee is examining the matter and will submit its report to the state AEFI committee. The state AEFI
committee will in turn furnish its report to the central AEFI committee for taking a view," said Dr G Srinivasa Rao, director public health, Telangana.
