Mr Hassan was found with gunshot injuries and, despite the best efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene, in Austin Road, a short time later.

The 13-year-old boy appeared in court via a video-link from a secure unit in Bristol wearing a pale blue T-shirt and raised his hand to confirm his name and date of birth.

Duncan Atkinson, QC, prosecuting said the 13-year-old was aware of the plan to kill Mr Hassan.
