NEW DELHI: A recent act of saving a passenger’s life by CISF personnel deployed at Dabri More Metro Station here, earned praise from home minister Amit Shah on Friday who even expressed his wish to meet and personally congratulate the “brave and vigilant” personnel.
On Monday, CISF constable Vikas posted at security check point at the station had promptly come forward to give cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to a passenger who had collapsed and fell unconscious.
CISF had later tweeted a video of the rescue act from its official handle.
Retweeting the video posted by CISF, the home minister on Friday posted: “Just came across this video! So proud of our CAPF personnel for their unwavering commitment towards serving the motherland and humanity. Have informed DG CISF that, I would like to meet this brave and vigilant @CISFHQrs personnel who saved a precious life.”
According to CISF, on 08.01.2021 at about 0851 hrs, a male passenger had come at the security point of Dabri More metro station to gain access into the metro system. Suddenly, he became unconscious and fell on the floor. Constable Vikas of CISF deployed at security point of the metro station promptly came forward to assist the passenger. He noticed that the passenger was unconscious and not breathing properly, and due to sudden fall he sustained injury to his face/mouth. Immediately, he started giving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the passenger by observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs). The passenger responded favourably and regained consciousness. He revealed his identity as Mr Satyanaran, aged about 45 yrs and resident of Janakpuri, New Delhi.
Subsequently, an ambulance was called for the passenger. Shift in-charge of CISF and station controller reached the spot and asked the passenger if he required further medical assistance. The passenger however declined to go to a hospital and left after thanking CISF profusely for saving his life.
