THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first meeting of KPCC’s new election management and strategy committee, headed by former chief minister Oommen Chandy, will be held at Indira Bhavan on Saturday.
Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who has been appointed as the chief AICC observer for upcoming assembly election, will also attend the meeting. He will be accompanied by Luizinho Faleiro and G Parameswara, the other two observers appointed by AICC.
Apart from campaign strategies, AICC observers will communicate the high command’s decision on the norms to be followed for candidate selection.
Gehlot will also be meeting all MLAs and MPs in the morning before the meeting. He decided to meet senior leaders to get a feedback on the party’s chances in the assembly election.
The meet is being organized to chalk out plans to win the election. After the meet, AICC observers will also attend KPCC executive committee meeting. They will return to Delhi on Saturday evening. Gehlot and other AICC observers had met leaders of UDF constituents on Friday night.
Meanwhile, KPCC chief Mullappally Ramachandran denied speculations that the high command has decided to field him in assembly election. No such decision has been taken on candidates or leaders. All such decisions will come at an appropriate time, he added.
