Man injured in lion attack in Gujarat's Amreli

A 35-year-old man suffered injuries after he was mauled by a lion in a village of Amreli in the wee hours of Saturday.

RAJKOT: A 35-year-old man suffered injuries after he was mauled by a lion in a village of Amreli in the wee hours of Saturday.
The man got injured while trying to save his buffaloes from becoming the prey of the lion.
According to forest department, Joru Jebliya, a resident of Dahida revenue area in Dhari taluka, received injuries on his back and legs as he was attacked by a fully grown lion.

The lion was sighted in his animal shed around 5am when he was milking the animals. The man tried to save his buffalos by trying to scare away the lion.
Pratap Jebaliya, brother of the victim, said, “I went to help him when the lion knocked him down. I saw the lion there and my brother was very near. I took a stick and scared away the lion.”
According to doctors, the victim’s condition is stable.
