I am puzzled as to why there have been no letters from readers making marmalade, considering the amount of correspondence last year. Am I to assume so much was made that supplies have not needed to be replaced? Or is there a shortage of Seville oranges in some areas? I have had no problem buying them from my local greengrocer. Where are you, marmalade makers? Surely I am not alone in enjoying such a pleasant and rewarding occupation in these dark times.

Wouldn’t it be great if the Australian government called the bluff of tech giants (Google threatens to shut down search in Australia if digital news code goes ahead, 22 January) and we all had to use more ethical alternatives to search (Ecosia, DuckDuckGo), Gmail (Mailbox, ProtonMail) and Facebook (Sociall, Okuna)?
