Bankura BJP workers protest leader’s induction

Bankura BJP workers protest leader’s induction
Kolkata: BJP old-timers from Bankura on Thursday staged a protest in front of the Hastings party office, demanding the removal of a recently inducted leader, Bidyut Das.
BJP workers from Ranibandh area alleged that Das — a former TMC Yuva leader — was an accused in the murder of Ajit Murmu, a party worker. Murmu was attacked in 2018, while on his way to the Ranibandh block office to submit his nomination for the panchayat polls.
The protesters sat for five hours in front of the party office before BJP leaders spoke to them.

“I will talk to those responsible for the Bankura area. I am not sure who has inducted him in the party,” Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh said.
“It is an unfortunate incident. Our leaders are talking to them. It will be solved in the next seven days,” said party spokesperson Samik Bandyopadhyay.
A few days ago, BJP workers at Bishnupur had staged a protest after Shyam Mukhopadhyay joined the party.
