Boy crushed to death by minitruck near Kancheepuram

CHENNAI: A one-year-old boy died after coming under the wheels of a minitruck at Thirukalimedu in Kancheepuram district on Wednesday. The accident happened when his uncle was reversing the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Sabareeswaran, son of Manikandan of Thirukalimedu.
Manikandan owns a minitruck. On Tuesday Manikandan’s brother, Kumar, visited the house. Around 1.30pm, Kumar was to take the vehicle to a nearby area.Kumar reversed the vehicle. He did not notice Sabareeswaran behind the vehicle.
The vehicle ran over the child. He was rushed to the Kancheepuram Government Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The Kancheepuram taluk police registered a case and detained Kumar.
