NEW DELHI: Union minister and BJP member
Smriti Irani on Thursday launched a scathing attack on
Congress MP
Rahul Gandhi in
Lok Sabha and alleged that a Trust of his family members took farmers’ land on pretext of opening a
medical college but built a family guest house in
Amethi.
“When he (Gandhi) was Amethi MP, a trust of his family took farmers’ land on the pretext of opening a medical college. But they built a guest house for themselves there.
Being Amethi MP, I would like to say that if someone made provision for medical college here, it was
Narendra Modi,” said Irani while intervening in discussion on the budget.
Hitting out at Gandhi on his criticism of the Centre over farm laws and the agri market, she said she was surprised that Gandhi spoke of farmers and levelled allegations against the government as he was unaware of the ground reality.
