T S Anbu takes charge as Tirunelveli city police commissioner

TIRUNELVELI: T S Anbu assumed office as the new commissioner of Tirunelveli city on Monday.
The 2001 batch IPS officer had earlier served in the city as the police commissioner following his promotion as deputy inspector general of police (DIG) in 2015.
He was posted as DIG for Tirunelveli range with additional charge of commissioner of police for Tirunelveli city and served in the capacity till 2016.
Anbu, who is now an IG rank officer, served as the IG (administration) and then as the IG of the Idol Wing last year.
He has also served in various capacities in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Vellore and Thanjavur.
Talking to reporters, he said that his priority would be to maintain law and order and to ensure that people-friendly policing is practised while grievances of the people are redressed in a timely manner.
