North Carolina animal group offers $5,000 reward after 2 dogs found dead on road side
WE BEGIN WITH BREAKING NEWS. DAVIDSON COUNTY INVESTIGATORS WILL DETAIL HOW THEY WERE ABLE TO BRING A MISSING TEENAGER HOME SAFE. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS A NEWS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR 3:00. THEY WILL TALK ABOUT HOW THEY BROUGHT THEM HOME. THE 14-YEAR-OLD WAS FOUND SATURDAY NIGHT. SHE WAS REPORTED MISSING MORE THAN A WEEK AGO. INVESTIGATORS FOUND SHE USED A SCHOOL-ISSUED COMPUTER TO COMMUNICATE WITH WILLIAM ICE FROM PENNSYLVANIA. OFFICIALS SAY HE ENDED UP LOOKING TO HEAR FROM HER AND THEY FOUND HER AT A HOME IN DENTON ON FEBRUARY 11. THEY TRACED HER TO CENTRAL ARKANSAS, JUST EAST OF LITTLE ROCK. LAW ENFORCEMENT SAYS THAT ICE SHOT AT APPROACHING OFFICERS, THEN ENDED UP DRIVING OFF. ONE OFFICER IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION. INVESTIGATORS SAY ICE SHOT HIMSELF IN THE CAR. HE DIED AT THE HOSPITA TURNING NOW TO OUR WEATHER. A LIVE LOOK OVER WINSTON-SALEM OVER ANOTHER -- WINSTON-SALEM AFTER ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN. JACLYN SHEARER IS JOINING US NOW. IT IS POURING. JACLYN: YEAH. WE ARE GETTING THE HEAVIEST RAIN NOW, MOVING INTO THE TRIAD, STICKING AROUND FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. I HAVE SEEN SOME RAIN EVEN IN THE PAST FEW MINUTES, SO INTERESTING TO SEE THAT IT IS CLEAR NOW. A LIVE LOOK AT OUR CURRENT TEMPERATURES AND RADAR. YOU CAN SEE THAT HEAVY RAIN, ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN SPOTS. IT IS MOVING FROM THE FOOTHILLS TO THE PIEDMONT. AS WE GET TO THE DARKER BLUE COLORS, THAT IS WHERE WE SEE HEAVIER RAIN. MORE ON THE MODERATE SIDE WITH BLUE, BUT YELLOWS, ORANGES AND REDS INDICATE HEAVIER RAIN. THAT IS WHAT WE WILL SEE FOR THE NEXT HOUR. I’M NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING SEVERE, BUT WE COULD SEE SOME WEAK THUNDERSTORMS. TOWARD THE FOOTHILLS, SOME GAPS IN THE RAIN AND A BRIGHTER OR LIGHTER BLUE, INDICATING LIGHTER RAINFALL. IT IS BEHIND THIS MAINLINE, SOME LIGHTER STUFF. FOR THE MOUNTAINS, SEEING THAT LIKENESS, BUT ALSO SEEING -- SEEING THAT LIGHTNESS, BUT ALSO SEEING WINTRY WEATHER MIXING IN. PROBABLY JUST A LITTLE BIT OF THAT MIX IN SPOTS. HERE’S WHAT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THE RAIN IN THE MOUNTAINS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON AND THEN WE ARE DONE WITH THE WET WEATHER FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. OUR NEXT RAIN CHANCE DOES NOT COME UNTIL FRIDAY. FOR THE MOUNTAINS, 6:00 P.M., DRY, MOSTLY SUNNY UNTIL FRIDAY. FOOTHILLS LOOKING SIMILAR, UPPER 40’S. THE TRIAD WILL BE IN THE UPPER 40’S AS WELL WITH RAIN CHANCES.
