02/8What was your turning point?

What was your turning point?

I gave birth to my baby in July 2020. Unfortunately, I ended up overeating during my pregnancy, especially during the lockdown and it cost me badly. I ended up gaining a lot of weight and made me wonder how would I ever end up getting back to my old self.

It had reached a point when I was running out of breath even walking for 5 minutes. All my clothes got tighter. People used to mock me and ask me if I was pregnant again. That was pretty shameful. In October 2020, I decided to be healthy for my baby and family. I got started on my plan, created a schedule for myself and worked out religiously.

03/8Diet followed

Diet followed

My breakfast: For my breakfast, I used to usually take something like a white egg omelette/poha/ besan chilla or brown bread sandwich.

My lunch: Daal + small portion of boiled rice, vegetable serving and one multigrain chapati. Curd is also a must-have for me.

My dinner: I avoid eating heavy foods or carbs at night. Dinner's usually something like sauteed vegetables or vegetable soup only.

Pre-workout meal: A cup of black coffee with some raisins. I also have a cup of coffee sometime before bed.

Post-workout meal: Chunks of paneer/ soya chunks or whey protein in warm water.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): When I have a cheat day, I like to indulge by eating something nice like bedmi puri or vegetable biryani.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: I mostly prefer having something light and filling like a vegetable soup for dinner since it is high in fibre, nutrition and a low-calorie option.

I have to credit my husband for always standing by my side like a rock, supporting and motivating me, taking care of my child whenever I used to exercise.

What are the lifestyle changes that you made?

I replaced my regular wheat chapati which I used to have daily with multigrain chapatis. I don't even think about eating outside food now, considering all the added calories in them. I also started having black coffee regularly, cut down on my tea habits, and have more fruits now. This is an ideal diet for me and I am still following it.
