Snooker star John Higgins will battle it out with Ronnie O'Sullivan for a £125,000 prize in the Players Championship final today.

The Wizard of Wishaw is in scintillating form going into the showpiece, having whitewashed Jordan Brown and Mark Selby 6-0 in his first two matches and defeating Kyren Wilson 6-1 in yesterday's semi-final.

Higgins will be looking to end his trophy drought in ranking tournaments, which stretches back to the 2018 Welsh Open when he beat Barry Hawkins 9-7.

And now O'Sullivan stands in his way of a 31st career title in the first to 10 frames clash.

Higgins, 45, told World Snooker Tour ahead of the final: "I have always said Ronnie is the best ever, in my eyes.

"I grew up playing him, and he’s still winning the big events, challenging [Mark] Selby, [Neil] Robertson and [Judd] Trump.

"The likes of me and Mark Williams are in the tier below, trying to nick a title here and there."

The action starts at 1pm and the match is being shown live on ITV 4.
