PATNA: A three-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped at village Khutauna under Khiara police station area of Jamui on Monday. The girl has received severe internal injuries from the incident.
Following the incident, villagers nabbed the accused youth red handed from the spot and thrashed him mercilessly until police reached at spot and took him in their custody in order to protect from getting assaulted further.

Police on Tuesday said that the accused has been identified as Hareram Manjhi who is aged hardly around 19 years.
Khaira police station SHO (in-charge) Shambhu Sharma said that the accused youth would be forwarded to judicial custody by Tuesday night after production before a court.
Sharma said that an FIR has been registered with Women’s police station of Jamui on basis of the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.
He said that the incident took place at around 10am on Monday.
“Loud songs were played in the victim’s neighbourhood due to a function organized for a youth’s engagement,” Sharma said.
“The accused youth also lived in the same area. He picked up the minor girl in lap and took her inside an abandoned house which is some distance away from the victim’s residence taking advantage of the loud noise as everyone’s focus was on the event,” Sharma said.

He said that the youth raped the minor inside the house but crying noise alerted some villagers who were passing from near the spot.
“Following it, they nabbed the accused and thrashed him. After receiving information, police later reached the spot and brought him to the police station while saving him from the hands of irate villagers,” he said.
Sharma said that the accused youth is unemployed and is native of Kaiyyar Dhanwa village under Chandradeep police station in Jamui.
“Manjhi had reached Khutauna hardly a day back to live at one of his relative’s house,” he said. Sharma said the minor’s father works as a daily wager in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile Jamui civil surgeon Dr Vinay Kumar Sharma said that the minor victim was profusely bleeding when she was brought to the sadar hospital for treatment on Monday.
“She has received grievous injuries in her internal body parts. She was allowed to go home with family members only after bleeding stopped at night. A female doctor has examined her,” he said adding the minor’s condition was stable at time when she was allowed to go home on Monday night.
