Lockdown has seen a number of businesses and activities shut up shop over safety fears amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Scots are expected to stay at home while tough restrictions remain in place across the country - but can leave for essential purposes, such as exercising.

This includes going for a walk - and National Trust Scotland has confirmed that a number of its beauty spots remain open, for those looking to spice up their daily exercise.

Castles, gardens and country parks are among the places that Scots can still explore amid the tight measures in place.

A number of National Trust Scotland sites will remain open across the country - but visitors must stick to coronavirus rules

Despite many remaining up across the country, people must only visit ones that are in their local as per the coronavirus rules set out by the Scottish Government.

Visitors must also abide by rules on social distancing and gatherings, among others.

A spokesperson for National Trust Scotland said: “Please adhere to local restrictions as set out by the Scottish Government when visiting our places, and check individual property pages for more information (including opening times) before you set off.”

Here is a full list of the National Trust properties that remain open across Scotland during the current lockdown restrictions.
