Nine-year-old girl raped in Kanpur Dehat

Two incidents of rape were reported in the region in the past twenty-four hours. A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenage youth in her neighbourhood in Rura area of Kanpur Dehat district, on Saturday.

KANPUR: Two incidents of rape were reported in the region in the past twenty-four hours. A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenage youth in her neighbourhood in Rura area of Kanpur Dehat district, on Saturday.
The victim’s parents alleged that the accused lured the girl over pretext of playing some game, following which he took her to the roof-top of his house to commit the crime, deputy SP rank trainee and Rura police station incharge Shyamjeet Singh said.

“While a case under relevant sections including 376 of Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and POCSO act has been booked against the youth, latter’s father, who conspired in the crime was booked under 120 B. Both are on run and searches are underway to make their arrest possible. The girl has been sent for medical examination,” said Singh further.
Elsewhere, a woman was allegedly raped by a native of her own village when she had gone to relieve herself in the field on Friday. The incident took place in a village under Sachendi police station in the district (Kanpur) in the late night hours on Friday.
The accused allegedly thrashed the victim and forced himself upon her. After raping the woman, the accused threatened the victim to not disclose the incident to anyone or face dire consequences.
Police have lodged an FIR into the matter and arrested the accused. “The accused, has been booked under section 376 (rape) 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation),” said SP Rural Brijesh Kumar Srivastava.
