PATNA: Unidentified bike borne criminals stabbed a 30-year-old man to death when he resisted a cellphone loot with him at village Pachlakhi under Nautan police station area in Siwan at around 2pm on Sunday.
The slain person was later identified as one Rishikesh Raj, resident of Harsiddhi at Motihari in East Champaran.
Nautan police station SHO Abhimanyu Kumar said that Raj was going to Siwan town from Harsiddhi on a bike for some work when the incident took place.

“Some eyewitnesses told police that two criminals on a bike intercepted Raj and tried to loot his cellphone. When he resisted, one of the persons pulled out a dagger and stabbed him on the right side of the chest and fled after looting his cellphone,” he said.
SHO said that Raj was killed at the spot within a few minutes of the stabbing.
“When police reached the spot, even his purse and other belongings were not found. It’s not clear if criminals looted his other belongings or any commuter or miscreant from nearby village looted them,” he said.
SHO said that prima facie it seems he was killed for resisting loot. He said Raj worked with a private firm in Harsiddhi and the body was sent for post-mortem.

“They forced the duo to come out and started looting. When Yadav resisted, criminals shot him in the thigh and looted the money. He was presently under treatment at SKMCH in Muzaffarpur,” SHO said.
He said that Yadav was taking the truck to Barauni from Gopalganj for delivering the tar.
