Today’ Google Doodle celebrates the 89th birth anniversary of renowned Indian scientist Udupi Ramachandra Rao. He is remembered by many as “India’s Satellite Man”. He was a protege of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, who is regarded as the father of India’s space program. Professor Rao supervised the launch of India’s first satellite - “Aryabhata”- in 1975. Rao became the first Indian to be inducted into the Satellite Hall of Fame in 2013.
