PATNA: Police on Wednesday recovered a headless body of a woman from an open field at Machla Badhaar under Kalpa police outpost Bihar's Jehanabad district.
The identity of the woman could not be ascertained even after several hours as the police could not recovered the missing head.
An officer from the Kalpa police outpost said that a purse with a PAN card was recovered from the spot.

“The PAN card belongs to one Anita. Her father’s name is mentioned as Vidya Singh. The date of birth is mentioned as January 1, 1987,” the officer said.
He said that body was initially presumed to be of someone from Jehanabad or from a nearby area.
“However, when further information about the PAN card was gathered by the superintendent of police, it turned out that Anita belongs to Delhi,” he said.
He said that police are trying to gather details of Anita and her family.
“It’s is yet not clear if the body is of Anita or someone else. It may be possible that the PAN card has been dropped there by the accused to misguide the police,” he said.
The officer said that the body seems to be of a woman aged between 25 to 30 years and she belonged to a well-to-do family.
There were injury marks caused by a sharp-edged weapon on all the five fingers of her left palm while her right palm was cut after she died as there was no bleeding from it,” he said.
