Southern Railway to run superfast special trains between Kanyakumari and Kolkata

Southern Railway to run superfast special trains between Kanyakumari and Kolkata

MADURAI: Southern Railway will operate weekly superfast special train services between Kanyakumari and Kolkata from the first week of April.
No 02666 Cape - Howrah weekly superfast special train will leave Kanyakumari at 5.30am on Saturdays and reach Howrah at 11.55pm on Sundays. The service will commence on April 3.
No 02665 Howrah - Cape weekly superfast special train will leave Howrah at 10.50am on Mondays and reach Kanyakumari at 4.15pm on Wednesdays.
The first service of the train will be on April 5.
These trains will have stoppages at Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Melmaruvathur, Chengalpet, Tambaram, Egmore, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajamundry, Visakhapatnam, Berhampur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar¸ Cuttack, Bhadrak¸ Balasore and Kharagpur. Train No 02666 will have additional stoppages at Srirangam and Ariyalur.
These trains will have five AC sleeper coaches, 10 second class sleeper coaches, two second class seater coaches and a pantry car.
Services of the trains will continue until further advice.
The Madurai railway division has also announced availability of unreserved seats in the Train Nos 06867/06868 Madurai – Villupuram – Madurai express special train from March 17. Since the announcement of the special train it has been running as a reserved only train service.
