HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Cabell County woman charged for making up a child abduction story gave testimony Friday.
Satana Adams, of Milton, accused Mohamed Zayan of trying to kidnap her daughter at the Huntington Mall in April 2019. She said Zayan, an Egyptian man working in West Virginia on a contract basis, grabbed her child by the hair and tried to take her.
Police said after the incident that video surveillance shows Adam and Zayan were not near each other at the time of the alleged abduction, which happened at the mall’s Old Navy location.
Adams stood by her story in court.
A store employee also testified, saying no one reported anything similar to Adams’ account that day. A detective also noted inconsistencies with Adams’ statement.
The trial will resume Monday at 1 p.m.
