Could the Pittsburgh Steelers and Le’Veon Bell reunite?

The former Steeler is in need of a job, and the Steelers have a need at his position.

The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a tricky spot. On one hand, they are sitting at a decent spot from a salary perspective, but, on the other hand, they don’t have enough money to bring back their key free agents.

Some creative moves will have to be made to round out the 2021 roster, and if the Steelers want to bring in some veteran players on the cheap they could get away with bringing back some familiar faces. It almost seems inevitable some former Steelers will make their way back to Pittsburgh, but one name might need a deeper dive.

Le’Veon Bell was one of the most physically gifted players in Steelers history. He truly was a number one running back and a number two wide receiver. After contract negotiations failed in 2018, Bell packed up and signed for a massive pay day with the New York Jets.

More importantly, especially for this story, he didn't burn any bridges on his way to the Jets.

Players like Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders flipped the bird to just about everyone they could on their way out, but Bell avoided dumping on the Steelers.

After a failed stint in New York, and a terrible fit in Kansas City, Bell once again finds himself a free agent. He isn't the player he used to be, but certainly could be a nice compliment to one of the top running backs of the 2021 NFL Draft class. Running backs aren't expected to take home much money this year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bell fall into the class of player who will only garner veteran minimum type deals.

We know their is a need, and a price tag that works. But do either side want each other? After Bell’s release by the Jets, the Steelers were amongst the betting favorites to land Bell’s services. After liking another tweet from a fan clamoring for Bell’s Pittsburgh return, it looks as though the 29 year old runner might be interested in a reunion. Whether the Steelers would be interested in such a move remains to be seen.

But what do you think? Would you welcome Le’Veon Bell back to the Steelers with open arms? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below.
