A Lanarkshire man has risen from the ranks to be appointed a director on the board of one of the country’s leading web development agencies.

Anthony Brennan joined mtc in 2017 and has now been promoted to the position of Business Development Director.

The company which is based in Dundee and Edinburgh was formed in 1999 and provides a range of web and digital marketing services to companies throughout the UK. It boasts Scottish Water, BrewDog, Peter Vardy, MacDonald Hotels and B&M Stores amongst its key clients.

The company, boasting a team of over 100 people, has also witnessed growth in both the automotive and healthcare markets recently.

Anthony, a former pupil of St Aidan’s High in Wishaw, will now work with the mtc board to progress the company’s UK-wide growth plans while continuing to engage with existing clients as well as ensuring the requirements of new ones are met.

The 35-year-old credits his enthusiasm for business to his dad, a well-known Lanarkshire businessman, who passed away three years ago.

Anthony said: “I always wanted to be in business.

"My dad John Brennan had his own businesses in hospitality and printing, he has always been my greatest inspiration.”

A former native of Craigneuk who now lives in Wishaw town centre, Anthony began his business studies at high school before continuing on to the University of Dundee, and completing degrees in International Business and International Relations.

Away from work he likes nothing more than spending time with partner Kathryn, friends and family.

He added: “I love travelling and I’m still playing and watching football and, weather permitting, an occasional game of golf.”

Anthony was one of two new appointment to mtc’s board of six directors, the other being Operations Director Tasha O’Hare.

Three of the six have made their way onto the board from the ranks thanks to consistent hard work and dedication.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing a huge shift to ecommerce and online marketing, the company is hugely optimistic about the future and the important role digital will continue to play for clients. It is fully invested in helping them navigate their “digital journey” and have assisted many companies to trade online throughout lockdown.
